Why Escape Rooms Are the Perfect Work Social
- Breaks down the office hierarchy — the intern who spots the clue becomes the hero. Genuinely levelling.
- Gets everyone involved — no sidelines, no standing around. Even the most reserved colleague finds their moment.
- Conversation fuel for weeks — you'll be talking about who panicked, who led, and who nearly broke the lock for months.
- Teams competing adds real stakes — department vs department. Results revealed at the end. First round on the losers.

----- Sorcha, Team Lead, Dublin -----

Our team has done loads of work socials over the years and this was genuinely the best. Everyone was completely engaged for the whole hour, and the conversations in the pub afterwards were the most relaxed and real we've had as a group. Will definitely do it again.
Best work social we've done. Everyone engaged, real conversations afterwards.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is an escape room good for a work social or night out? It's one of the best things you can do for a work night out — and a very welcome alternative to a pub where half the team disappears to the bar. An escape room gives everyone something to do, creates real shared memories, and generates conversation for weeks. It works for groups that know each other well and groups where people don't interact much day-to-day. The competitive team format means even quieter colleagues get involved, which is often a pleasant surprise.
- How many colleagues can take part at once?Up to 50 people can play simultaneously across our two Dublin city centre locations. We split larger groups into teams of 4–8 in separate rooms, all starting at the same time. At the end we announce results — who escaped, who needed the most hints, whose team finished fastest. For work socials this format is perfect because it creates natural cross-team mixing and gives everyone a shared experience to talk about over drinks afterwards.
- What if people have different ability levels or physical limitations? All of our rooms are designed to be accessible to a wide range of abilities — the puzzles require thinking, observation, and communication, not physical strength or agility. Players who prefer a more supportive role can contribute to strategy and observation while others handle any physical elements. If anyone in your group has specific accessibility requirements, please mention this at the time of booking and we'll advise on the most suitable room choice.
- How should we organise the booking for a work night out?The easiest approach is to book online at incognitoescaperoom.ie, selecting the room(s) and time slot that suits your group. For larger groups (10+) we'd recommend emailing info@incognitoescaperoom.ie or calling +353 89 254 2005 so we can advise on the best room configuration and make sure everything is set up for your arrival. We accept group payments and can arrange invoicing for corporate bookings.
- Is there parking for colleagues visiting from outside the city? Both our Dublin 8 locations have on-street parking nearby and are well-served by public transport. For those driving from outside the city, paid parking is available at The Iveagh Trust car park on Bull Alley Street (near our High Street location) and on-street metered parking near Bridgefoot Street. For those coming by public transport, both venues are close to the Luas Red Line and multiple bus routes. We're right in the heart of Dublin, so colleagues coming from all directions have options.
