Six of us went for a Saturday night out and honestly it was the best decision we've made in years. We failed miserably but were in absolute stitches the whole time. Already planning the next one.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are there films or games similar to this activity?
The MOLE show recently came to Netflix, which is an escape room-ish, there's a lot of hype around it, and both the young and older population know it — it's a great reference point for what to expect from an escape room-style challenge. Video games like The Room, We Were Here, or any detective adventure game also capture a similar spirit of puzzle-solving under pressure. If you've ever watched Sherlock Holmes, Prison Break, or National Treasure and thought 'I could solve that,' then escape rooms were made for you.
  • How many people can we accommodate?
Incognito Escape Room can accommodate up to 50 people simultaneously across our rooms at two Dublin city centre locations just 5 minutes apart. Cabin in the Woods is our largest room and fits up to 10 players, while Baker Street Mystery, King's Quest, Prohibition, and Orphanage each accommodate up to 8 players. Floor Is Lava fits 2–6 players per session, and the Bunker is suited to groups of up to 8. For large events or corporate team buildings, we can run multiple rooms at the same time — just contact us to arrange it.
  • Age limit
Our escape rooms are recommended for players aged 12 and over, though younger children are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult. Players aged 15 or younger must have an adult present in the same room — that adult counts as a full player and the standard charge applies. For very young children (under 12), we'd suggest King's Quest as the most family-friendly option, while horror rooms like Orphanage and Cabin in the Woods are better suited to teens and adults. There is no upper age limit — we've had players well into their 80s and they loved every minute!
  • Cancellations and refund
We operate a strict 48-hour cancellation and refund policy — if you need to cancel or modify your booking, please contact us by email or phone at least 48 hours before your scheduled game time. Any payments made within 48 hours of the game start time are non-refundable, and this rule applies even if you booked less than 48 hours in advance, so please double-check your details before confirming. To change your booking or request a refund, reach us at info@incognitoescaperoom.ie or call +353 89 254 2005. As we operate entirely by appointment, late cancellations directly impact other guests, so we appreciate your understanding.
  • Can players leave the room at any point?
Yes — your safety and wellbeing always come first, and you are free to leave the room at any point during the game. Whether you're experiencing a panic attack, claustrophobia, need to take an urgent call, or simply need a break, our game masters are always monitoring and ready to assist. Every room has a clearly visible panic button you can press at any time to alert staff immediately. Leaving the room mid-game won't affect the other players, so please never hesitate to step out if you need to.
  • Is there any parking?
We don't have a dedicated car park, but there are several convenient options nearby for both of our Dublin locations. The Thomas Street Garage is just around the corner from our Bridgefoot Street location and is open Monday–Saturday from 7am to 7pm. Street parking is also available on Oliver Bond Street nearby. If you're coming by public transport, we're well served by Dublin Bus routes and are a short walk from the city centre.
  • Can I bring any food or drink to the Incognito escape room?
We don't allow food or alcohol inside the escape rooms, as it can damage the props, puzzles, and equipment that make each experience special. You're welcome to bring a bottle of water if needed, particularly on warmer days or if you have medical reasons for staying hydrated. There are plenty of great cafes, pubs, and restaurants nearby at both our Bridgefoot Street and Old Dublin Wall locations — perfect for a bite before or a celebration after your game. If you'd like to organise something special around your visit, feel free to get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
  • I am heading to the airport on the day of my booking, can I leave my luggage at your venue?
We don't have secure lockers or a formal left-luggage facility, but you're welcome to leave small bags in our reception area at your own risk while you play. Large suitcases or bulky luggage can also be left in the office or reception area while you're in the game, but please note we cannot take responsibility for items and cannot hold luggage after you've departed. For valuables, we recommend keeping them with you during the game — small bags and pouches can easily be taken inside. If you're travelling with a lot of luggage, you may want to consider a city centre left-luggage service nearby.
  • Do you provide games in any other languages?
Our games are conducted in English, but as a proud international team we do our best to make everyone feel welcome. On special request, we can deliver the pre-game introduction in Croatian, Spanish, or Irish alongside English — just let us know when booking and we'll arrange it. The in-room puzzles themselves are all in English, but our game masters can provide extra guidance and hints in other languages where possible. Don't be shy — just ask and we'll see what we can do!
  • Is it safe to play while pregnant?
From a general safety standpoint, our escape rooms don't involve any physical danger, but the suitability for pregnant players really depends on the individual and which room you choose. If you are sensitive to darkness, enclosed spaces, jump scares, or loud noises, we strongly recommend Baker Street Mystery, which is our brightest, most relaxed experience with no horror elements. Rooms like Orphanage, Cabin in the Woods, and Bunker involve dim lighting and more intense atmospheres that may not be comfortable for everyone. As always, please listen to your body and consult your doctor if you're unsure — and let your game master know before you start so they can look out for you.
  • I am suffering from epilepsy, am I allowed to play?
Only people who are suffering from this condition know what triggers them. In all these years our games caused 0 triggers to our players suffering from epilepsy, but really to be 100% safe, we would recommend the Baker Street game if you are not sure which to choose. Baker Street Mystery uses consistent, normal lighting with no strobes or flashing effects, making it our safest option for players with photosensitive epilepsy. If you have any specific concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us in advance at info@incognitoescaperoom.ie — we're happy to discuss the lighting conditions in any room before you book.
  • Do we have a conference room, after-game playing area, etc?
We don't have a dedicated conference room, event space, or post-game lounge area — our venues are purpose-built for the escape room experience itself. Our reception area is available for your pre-game briefing and post-game debrief with your game master, but it's not designed for extended gatherings. If you're planning a team-building day or birthday event, we'd suggest booking a nearby venue for food and drinks before or after your games — there are plenty of great options close to both our Bridgefoot Street and Old Dublin Wall locations. Feel free to contact us if you need any local recommendations.
  • I see that you have exact times when the game starts, are those flexible? I would need something between 3:40 pm and 5:20 pm.
Our game start times are fixed and cannot be adjusted — each slot is precisely scheduled so that rooms can be cleaned, reset, and prepared to the highest standard between groups. Arriving late means your game time will be reduced accordingly, as we cannot allow your session to run into the next group's slot. We recommend arriving on time for your scheduled start time to complete check-in and get your pre-game briefing. If our available time slots don't suit your schedule, please contact us at info@incognitoescaperoom.ie and we'll check if any alternative arrangements can be made.
  • I have booked for a certain number of people but I will have a few more or less people, what to do?
Not to worry — your game is private, so you have flexibility within the room's capacity limits. If you booked for 6 but only 5 show up, contact us at least 48 hours in advance and we'll refund the difference; if you have an extra person on the day, you can simply pay the additional amount when you arrive. The rooms accommodate between 2 and their stated maximum (10 for Cabin in the Woods, 8 for Baker Street, King's Quest, Prohibition, and Orphanage), so any group size within those limits is perfectly fine. If you expect your numbers to change, just drop us an email at info@incognitoescaperoom.ie or call +353 89 254 2005 so we can update your booking.
  • Do I have to wear any special outfit for the game?
No special outfit is required, but we do recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing that you can move around in freely. Baker Street Mystery is the most relaxed experience — you could wear smart casual without any issue — but for our more physical rooms like Cabin in the Woods, King's Quest, and Floor Is Lava, we'd suggest avoiding anything too formal or restrictive. Flat, closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended for all rooms, and are mandatory for Floor Is Lava due to the pressure-sensor floor tiles. Leave the heels, sandals, and flowing scarves at home — medieval knights and serial killers were not known for their fashion sense!
  • Are our rooms wheelchair accessible?
We are sorry, but due to the nature of this industry and what the escape games usually have (hidden doors, tunnels, small rooms, basements, etc), we were not able to make it wheelchair accessible in the way that at the same time meets the most modern escape game standards. Some rooms, such as Prohibition, have wider open spaces and may be partially playable with a wheelchair if at least one group member can access all areas. We are continuously working to improve accessibility and will update this information as changes are made — in the meantime, please contact us at info@incognitoescaperoom.ie to discuss your specific needs before booking.
